Parts of URL

Any URL consisting of Four parts constitutes a complete URL. three of them are as below:-

Protocol Identifier

Protocol Identifier is defined as the identifier that points to a specific protocol which will be utilized to search the resource. For example, consider the URL, or Uniform Resource Locator for eHow, “http://www.fullformtutor.com“. In this URL, “http” is referred to as the Protocol Identifier The first part is the Protocol Identifier. HTPP means hypertext transport protocol. Through which communication is done between client and server.

Domain Name

The second part is a Domain Name. A domain name is the name of a particular website. Which makes it easy to identify it. Which tells which server to access the data from.A domain name is used for finding and identifying computers on the Internet. … Because of this, domain names were developed and used to identify entities on the Internet rather than using IP addresses

80 is the port. It indicates the technical “gate” used to access the resources on the webserver. It is usually omitted if the webserver uses the standard ports of the HTTP protocol (80 for HTTP and 443 for HTTPS) to grant access to its resources. Otherwise, it is mandatory.

Path to my file

/path/to/myfile.html is the path to the resource on the Web server. In the early days of the Web, a path like this represented a physical file location on the Web server. Nowadays, it is mostly an abstraction handled by Web servers without any physical reality

How URL works?

Every website on the Internet has an Ip Address which is numerical. Like —www.Google.Com’s Ip Address is Whenever we enter the URL of a website in the Browser, then our Browser converts that URL into DNS (Domain Name System) and reaches the website which we are still searching for. Initially, the website was accessed only by IP address but it is numerical which is difficult to do, probably because the Domain Name System started being used

Type of URL

There are several types of URLs. some of hem ara as below : –

Messy URL

Messy url is a Slang term used to define a URL that is not easy to read from a human reader . For example, a messy URL might look something like this: http://www.fakeURLfullformtutor.com/article.php/tldr009/3831706/

In other words , a clean URL would contain more meaningful words, like this: https://www.fullformtutor.com/article/hard-drive.html

A messy URL is not only harder for human readers to decipher, but it can also make it difficult for search engines to use the data in the URL for indexing purposes. Most messy URLs are the result of dynamically generated URLs that are created using publishing

Dynamic URL

A dynamic URL is the address – or Uniform Resource Locator (URL) – of a Web page or website with content that depends on variable parameters that are provided to the server that delivers it. The parameters may be already present in the URL itself or they may be the result of user input. A dynamic URL can also be recognized by the presence of certain characters or character strings that appear in the URL (visible in the address bar of your browser). The following are representative:

& $ + = ? % cgi

Some search engines do not like to index dynamic URLs. This is because the search engine may see a huge sequence of Web pages as it spiders the dynamic URL, the contents of which keep changing (which makes it look like a different URL). This is called a spider trap. The more sophisticated search engines, such as Google, index dynamic URLs as long as the information is market-specific and content-rich. But the best way to ensure that a Web site is indexed on the largest possible number of search engines is to include at least one significant page that is represented by a static URL, in which the contents do not change unless the HTML code is rewritten.
